Mortgage rates are pretty average!
Yes, you read that right. Our mortgage rates from 2024 and the average projection for 2025 are actually pretty average.
Keller Williams recently shared this with their agents, (Joe & Jean too) at their annual meeting which we affectionately call “Family Reunion”.
As you can see, the historical average, dating back to 1972 is 7.72% and then looking back to 1990 to present, that average is 6%!
So, whether you look at today’s rate of 6.7%, or the projected average of 6.5%--that puts us right between these numbers.
Yes rates were lower, and we all should know they can get higher. So, try not to worry too much about the exact number. It’s actually the mortgage payment and how that fits in your budget that really matters.
Let us show you how,
